Most maritime industries in Pyrmont have closed, or are in the process of closing.

Pyrmont is now a suburb of high-rise apartment blocks.

≈ anchor & blocks, Balmain East, Sydney: 1990 & 91.

The Maritime Services Board Depot was in use until recently.

The site became home to the Water Police in 2004.

≈ West Pier, Brighton, England: 2002.

It has now been destroyed by storm and fire damage whilst awaiting restoration.

≈ wharf, Darling Harbour, Sydney: 1979.

Before Darling Harbour became “SydVegas”, it was a working port.
